6K’s UniMelt® plasma system is a platform technology that enables customers to tailor ceramics, metals, or composite materials to their specifications, meeting the requirements of advanced end-products. We are seeking an experienced INVESTMENT ANALYST who will make an immediate impact by expanding our portfolio with qualified new market opportunities and closing the corresponding deals from M & A transactions to equity and debt offerings.
Responsibilities include going beyond researching and analyzing financial statements, developing valuation and other standard financial models. It’s the thrill of the Chase. Identifying what the opportunities are through qualitative and quantitative means, interviewing industry leaders, drafting high level business plans to gain consensus all while preparing dynamic presentations to support the deal.
6K is in a run fast mode. As part of a Tiger Team that reports to the CEO, working in concert with the CFO, COO, VP Strategy/BD to support special projects, this is a unique opportunity to join a company where you are meaningfully involved at the beginning, execution and creation of new market initiatives. 6K is currently comprised of three entities: 6K Inc., 6K Additive and 6K Energy with the expectation of expanding beyond.
Key Skills and Experience
- MBA required, BS in technical discipline ideal
- Minimum 8 years of Investment Banking experience required
- Entrepreneurial mindset where the next opportunity could be the one
- Execution of M & A, equity and debt financing transactions
- Experience including developing financial models and valuation analyses on the fly
- Strong analytical ability with a critical eye towards complex investment opportunities
- Conduct comprehensive industry research coming to thoughtful conclusions quickly
- Ability to develop professional quality materials presentable to a wide range of backgrounds
6K has a transformative production technology (designed at MIT) for the next generation of critical materials. One that will reduce the cost of electric vehicles, enhance energy security, reduce dependence on foreign imports, speed the adoption of 3D printing, dramatically reduce GHG on the environment, and much more.
We will have national and global-level impact. We are working to bring battery materials production to the US (for the first time), with the help of our Board Director, Congressman Joe Kennedy III. We are supported by a Congressional budget line item and 6K Advisor and prior Deputy Secretary of Defense Dr. Joe Felter to reduce foreign imports of strategic metals & enable domestic supply for critical applications.
6K is pre-IPO, venture backed, with over $100M in capital, over 100 people across multiple states and divisions. Our families of materials are: in production and sold globally, in development with partnerships that include giants in the industry and in discovery phase from over a dozen markets.
