Dr. Peter Bocchini joined 6K Additive in December 2024 as Director of Technology.
A seasoned expert in additive manufacturing (AM), Dr. Bocchini possesses a comprehensive understanding of the entire AM process, encompassing site establishment, equipment selection and procurement, and the successful implementation of cutting-edge technologies.
Prior to joining 6K Additive, Dr. Bocchini began his career as a Materials and Process Engineer within Boeing’s Research and Technology Division. His introduction to the transformative potential of metal additive manufacturing at Boeing spurred him to join Carpenter Technology. There, he led the establishment and subsequent management of Carpenter’s end-to-end additive manufacturing production center, dedicated to serving aerospace and industrial applications in Huntsville, Alabama.
Subsequently, Dr. Bocchini assumed the role of Operations Manager at Wabtec Transportation, overseeing their aluminum powder bed additive manufacturing facility.
Dr. Bocchini holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Delaware and earned a Ph.D. in Materials Science from Northwestern University.
