As 6K Energy President, Mr. Trinch works with global battery cell manufacturers and top-tier OEMs to produce domestic, sustainable battery material for grid storage and electric vehicles. Mr. Trinch joined 6K Energy in 2022, where he established the Battery Center of Excellence in North Andover, MA, and broke ground on our PlusCAM facility, the first multi-chemistry plasma cathode plant in Jackson, Tennessee.
Previously, Mr. Trinch spent 13 years developing lithium-ion battery solutions for automotive, industrial, and consumer customers worldwide. Most recently, he was President and Chief Business Officer at Advano, a deep-tech start-up working on a practical and scalable Si solution for the anode.
Prior to that, he spent over 11 years at A123 Systems, a leading Li-ion solution supplier in the automotive industry. He was a founding member of the Automotive Business Unit and helped grow the team from 25 to over 2000 employees while expanding the company’s reach into the grid and industrial space. As Chief Commercial Officer and EVP, he was responsible for corporate strategy, global sales, A123 GmbH, A123 UK Ltd, and the Motorsports Business Unit. In 2014, he was the President of Asia, residing in Hangzhou, China, leading the integration of Wanxiang’s battery business with A123 Systems.
Prior to joining A123, he spent 18 years developing semiconductors and electronic components for the automotive market at Motorola, Philips, NEC Electronics, and Lear Corporation. With his last role as Global Vice President of Sales for Lear’s Electronics Business Unit.
He holds dual BS degrees in Electrical Engineering and Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University, where he was captain of the golf team and a member of the football team.
