Rob Davies has recently joined 6K Energy as Chief Operating Officer. This appointment follows a ten-year career at Cabot Corporation where he was most recently the Vice President of Global Manufacturing, responsible for the industrial performance of the network of eighteen Carbon Black plants and chaired the company’s Manufacturing Council. He was previously the Vice President of Global Manufacturing responsible for the network of eight Activated Carbon plants.
Prior to joining Cabot in 2012, as part of the acquisition of Norit Activated Carbon, Rob worked in the cement and minerals industries, fulfilling assignments in the UK, South Africa and the US.
During his greater than 30 year career, he has spent time in manufacturing and general management roles, chaired Joint Ventures in the UK, Canada and Mexico, and has led multi-plant manufacturing networks on four occasions, producing cement, alternative fuels, activated carbon and carbon black. Rob holds a First-Class Honors Master’s degree in Mineral Processing Engineering from Imperial College of Science and Technology, London, and earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Warwick University, UK.
