Mr. Martin started his manufacturing career in 1994 at Western Sintering in Richland, Washington, where he set up the powder presses and blended metal powders. In 1998, he joined ATI, first as a production operator at their Electron Beam Titanium melt facility and progressing to a front-line supervisor, materials manager, and ultimately the plant manager.
Throughout his ATI career, Eric served in leadership roles within three of ATI’s four business units. Those leadership positions include Plant Manager for EB Melt from 2004-2012, the director of nickel, titanium, and specialty steel production planning from 2012-2015, General Manager of ATI Powder Metals from 2015-2017, and vice president & general manager of ATI’s titanium investment castings business from 2017-2019, where he led the business turnaround that enabled ATI’s successful sale to CPP.
Most recently, he was the vice president of operations for ATI’s specialty rolled products business. He has over 28 years in the metal alloys and metal powder industry. His significant knowledge, experience, and understanding of the metallurgical, technical, commercial, and manufacturing processes aided in bringing these alloys to market in aerospace, energy, and biomedical applications.
Eric lives in Western Pennsylvania with his wife and has three grown children and two grandchildren. He enjoys reading, traveling, golfing, and spending time with his grandchildren.
